MUJI: A Vision of Simple, Pleasant Living
Since its inception, MUJI has focused on creating a user-friendly experience with products that promote a “pleasant life.” The company’s mission is to develop products that not only look good and are practical but also enhance daily living. MUJI strives to integrate design, manufacturing, and packaging in ways that make its products both aesthetically pleasing and functional.

Local Engagement and Sustainable Living
Starting in 2017, MUJI has introduced local initiatives in Taiwan to align with its “pleasant life” philosophy. The aim is to offer a comprehensive approach to a good life through products and services while considering the future relationship between humans and the environment. By engaging in activities that reflect creativity and conscience, MUJI seeks to foster meaningful connections with local communities and contribute positively to society and the Earth.

The First Domestic Timber Showroom: A Collaboration with the Forestry Bureau
In a pioneering effort, MUJI has partnered with the Taiwan Forestry Bureau to create Taiwan’s first showroom using locally sourced timber for its interior design. The new store in Yulon City showcases Taiwan’s native timber, such as Taiwanese Yew (Taxus sumatrana) and Taiwan Cypress (Chamaecyparis formosensis), as materials for its renovations. This initiative not only reinforces MUJI’s commitment to local engagement but also allows customers to experience firsthand the warm, natural feel that timber brings to interior spaces.

Promoting Sustainability Through Collaboration
Through this collaboration, MUJI hopes to inspire other companies and consumers to make small changes in their daily lives that can have a positive impact on the environment. This project demonstrates how businesses can incorporate sustainable practices into their operations, ultimately contributing to a greener, more sustainable future for all.
